Arina Bogdanova

Arina is an ordinary 15-year-old girl who loves school and dreams of the future. However, her life is about to change dramatically. After going through three treatment protocols, her cancer has not gone away, and now there is only one hope left to save her. Time is running out.
 

This story is about Arina, a girl who desperately needs your help today. The Almighty watches over us all, and we can only hope for His mercy. In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to offer kindness and support to one another while we can.

On October 16, 2025, the family's life was turned upside down. It all started with a routine complaint of weakness and stomach pain, which was soon followed by heavy bleeding. Initially, doctors suspected fluid buildup in the pelvis, but after a thorough examination at the UMC Centre for Motherhood and Childhood, Arina was diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis came as a shock to the family, but they faced it together with strength and unity.

The first days were the hardest; the treatments were gruelling, and there was pain and despair. However, over time, Arina learned to appreciate every new day and every breath she took. Her relationship with her mother and sister deepened significantly. Standing side by side, they fought for her life and recovery. Now, the only thing Arina fears is leaving them behind forever.

Arina endured three rounds of chemotherapy, suffering from stomatitis, burns on her legs and oesophagus, constant nausea, and hair loss—all while her only wish was to live. The most distressing moment came when, after achieving remission during her second round of treatment, her tumour began to grow again. She was then prescribed adjuvant chemotherapy. Unfortunately, after two courses, her condition worsened as her tumour continued to grow aggressively, compressing her intestines and bladder.

After seven months of battling the disease in Kazakhstani hospitals, it became evident that we needed to seek help abroad. 

"During that time, I witnessed far too much. I saw children transferred to palliative care. I watched as chemotherapy stopped working. The scariest part was seeing children die. It made me realise: we can't wait any longer."

Thanks to the support of friends and relatives, the family was able to travel to Turkey on short notice. Arina is currently receiving chemotherapy at the MEDIPOL MEGA Clinic in preparation for a bone marrow transplant. Time is running out for this brave child, and her mother struggles to afford the treatment costs.

Despite her situation, Arina remains hopeful. She dreams of returning to her life, which is filled with school, her favourite activities, and, most importantly, her family. Her illness has taught her what truly matters: life itself and the joy of being with loved ones. The thought of losing that is terrifying, which is why she is fighting so desperately to live!

Every day is a small victory for Arina. She is learning to find joy in the simple things, such as caring for her loved ones and a new knitting pattern. For Arina, knitting isn’t just a hobby; it’s a way to escape the daily grind of the hospital and create something beautiful with her own hands. We believe that she will soon be able to return to a healthy and happy life, but we cannot do this without your help.
