27.05.2024 12:54

The holiday is dedicated to the first public library that opened on 27 May 1902.

What do books teach us? -Preserving traditions and finding your place in a rapidly changing world.

We have prepared our top list of 10 national works and heroes to mark this holiday.

1. Chingiz Aitmatov.

He is the pride of our republic and our hero. His works have been translated into 176 world languages, printed in 128 countries, and screened more than 20 times. Children can read "The Peggy Dog Running by the Edge of the Sea" (1977) and "The First Teacher" (1962). A valuable gem is "The Tale of the Three Poor Sisters." It was narrated to little Chingiz by his grandmother.

2. The heroic epic "Manas".

This epic contains heroism, authenticity and a formula for a happy future for our people. Manas has become popular nowadays, and it is delightful. There are millions of lines in the epic, but recently, they published a collection in the genre of Japanese manga with brief texts and illustrations.

3. Three magical fairy tales of Kyrgyzstan.

We read them in our childhood. And they teach us to distinguish between good and evil and to admire our people and their culture. Our nation has many fairy tales, and we can divide them into four types: tales- legends, magic tales, tales about animals and everyday tales.

4. The Bold Hunter Fairy Tale.

An especially thrilling fairy tale for children is about the hunter Zhaika, who is brave and noble. Once trapped in a cave with a witch, he escaped death and heroically rescued 20 captives.

5. Tales about Apendi.

He is similar to Khodzha Nasreddin or Kazakh Aldar Kose and teaches worldly wisdom, amusing children with his wit.

6. Musa Dzhangaziev's poetry collection "Balalyk" ("Childhood") and "Where the warm blue Issyk-Kul is" (1974).

7. Shukurbek Beishenaliev's "The Horned Lamb" (received a diploma named after H. C. Andersen).

8. Modern fairy tales "Diamonds in the Snow" and  "To the Little Dreamers" by Nargisa Karasartova.

9. Cheerful and funny "Centipede Ozka" and "Lia and Aya the Handmaiden".

10. Chokcholoi Baatyr.

No one will be left indifferent in this tale of the cat of the old man and the old woman. This is an amazing and kind line of our fairy tales about how orphaned children are fed and raised by animals, such as maral, argali and others.

Let's love the stories of our native land together!
