Artem has once again fallen asleep under anaesthesia, marking the second time in recent months. The boy, only 6 years old, has learned not to be afraid of this state. He understands that he needs to close his eyes and wake up once it's over. However, each time before the anaesthesia, he experiences pain and tears, particularly because they have to place a catheter in his vein, which causes him considerable suffering.
After completing another round of chemotherapy, Artem was discharged from the hospital. He and his mom are now living in a cottage near the hospital as he recovers. Recently, he underwent a bone marrow puncture, an MRI, and a spinal biopsy, all of which were performed under general anaesthesia. Unfortunately, Artem's body has started to react negatively to the medication, leading the doctors to increase the dosage. This is quite concerning.
He is withdrawn and reluctant to communicate with the medical staff. This is his way of dealing with pain and fear: he hides within himself and focuses on his inner thoughts. While his parents await the test results, his fate hangs in the balance.
"He is holding on as best as he can. We try not to show him our anxiety," says Artem's parents. "However, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for us. Today, we were called to the accounting department because there is still an outstanding debt for chemotherapy, and the transplantation has not been paid for. Without payment, we will not be allowed to proceed with the operation... We cannot manage without help."
Artem's condition is now stable, but he requires a bone marrow transplant as soon as possible to continue his treatment. Please help the family through this difficult time. Every donation you make is a step towards a life without pain.
Recently, following another round of intensive treatment, his doctor happily announced that Imran has progressed from stage three to stage two cerebral palsy!
