At 18, Maxim is stepping into adulthood, making this day especially significant for him. Not long ago, he was busy planning for university, sports, and his future. Today, however, he finds himself celebrating his 18th birthday in a hospital, bravely continuing his battle against a serious diagnosis—Ewing's sarcoma.
But one thing that hasn't changed in Maxim is his strength, his character, and his unwavering ability to persevere.
Dear Maxim,
We wholeheartedly congratulate you on coming of age and turning 18, which marks the beginning of dreams, bold decisions, and the first serious steps into adulthood. You have already shown that you are a true man. Adulthood is not merely about age; it's about responsibility, courage, and the determination to never give up, even in the toughest times.
You are facing challenges that not every adult can handle, yet you find the strength to smile, support your parents, and believe in your recovery. We are proud of you.
We believe that ahead of you lie:
university lecture halls instead of hospital wards,
athletic victories instead of IV drips,
travel, friendships, love, and a fulfilling life.
May this year be a turning point—not just in your fate, but in your health. May your treatment be successful, your strength return with each passing day, and may you always be surrounded by loving parents and people who sincerely care about you.
May your homes always be filled with peace, prosperity, good health and the warmth of your family and friends. May this joyful festival fill your hearts with kindness, compassion and gratitude.
