Ahmed Kanyshbekov

Little Ahmed is only two years old, he would enjoy life and actively explore the world, but now he has to fight a deadly disease - Ewing's sarcoma, a malignant tumour of the bone skeleton.

"Last summer, while swimming, I happened to see a lump on my son's body. The next day, we went to the Traumatology and Surgery Department of Osh State Hospital immediately. There Ahmed was x-rayed, and they saw crushed bones and what looked like mucus. We were immediately admitted to the hospital, prescribed an antibiotic and had blood drawn to be analysed. The doctor did not like the result of the analysis and prescribed a CT examination for the child. They said they suspected osteosarcoma. I could not believe it, and I was shocked. The attending doctor said a biopsy was necessary, issued a referral and advised to go to Bishkek as soon as possible," Orozgul, Akhmed's mother, recalls the first days of horror.

Unfortunately, the biopsy confirmed the terrible diagnosis - stage 3 Ewing's sarcoma. Ahmed was urgently put on chemotherapy. He has to complete 6 courses, after which surgery is planned. The boy was in urgent need of expensive medication for treatment. Ahmed's parents turned to our foundation seeking help. As part of the "For Life" programme, we extended a helping hand to the family.

The baby has a difficult treatment ahead of him. We wish him much strength to overcome his cruel illness as soon as possible!
