“Thank you for your help!”- Alina Borubaeva.

Alina is grateful to each of you for your help! She is fighting oncology, and without you, she would not have been able to win. Thank you for not passing by her pain because the girl is so tired, and she simply has no strength left. Thank you for giving her hope! Alina has acute myeloblastic leukaemia. While her peers prepare for New Year's Eve celebrations, she lives her life waiting for help...

"My name is Alina. I'm sick. I have cancer. I spend all my time in the hospital. I used to have beautiful thick hair and lots of friends, and I liked to dance and dream. Now, I don't have any of that. Just dreams. I like Rapunzel, the princess with long hair. After all the procedures, when I don't even have the strength to get up, I close my eyes and dream about how my hair will grow long. I imagine brushing it and braiding it. Thank you for giving me hope that someday they will come true! I believe! I will not give up!". Alina is a young patient in the oncology department.

Alina needed expensive diagnostics on which her treatment depended. But the family has no money to pay for it.

Alina grew up healthy, and no one expected that this terrible disease would touch her life. She went to kindergarten, then to school, and loved playing with friends, studying, dancing, music and drawing. She dreamed of becoming an adult and teaching maths. And then oncology came, and her dreams faded....

Last year, Alina finished the 3rd grade. One day, she had a toothache and had to go to the dentist. The doctor cured her tooth decay, but almost immediately, she got a sore throat. Her mother brought her daughter to the nearest rural medical centre.

From there, Alina was sent to the hospital in Osh, where, almost immediately after examinations, the diagnosis that makes any parent's blood run cold was confirmed - Acute Lymphoblastic leukaemia, blood cancer. Then, the child was sent to the National Centre for Maternal and Child Health. When admitted to the oncology department, the girl was already in a serious condition - bloated abdomen, vomiting, she could not even walk. Since June 2023, she spent 6 months in the paediatric oncology department and underwent 6 blocks of chemotherapy.

To move forward in the right direction, Alina needed a specific test for minimal residual disease. According to the MOB analysis, the whole world determines the treatment tactics of different types of oncology. Unfortunately, in Kyrgyzstan, this diagnostics is not included in the list of free services, and parents have to pay for it themselves. Those parents who do not have such means need to refuse. Sometimes, it costs a child's life. A relapse cannot be traced in time...

Thank you for giving Alina the most vital gift for the New Year - the opportunity to undergo life-saving treatment. May your goodness increase and return to you!
