Cheeky girl Umut has been battling a terrible disease for over a year. She was just over a year old when she became very ill: She often had high fevers and complained of pain in her legs. Pediatric oncology is insidious and often disguises itself as other diseases. And with Umut, cancer played this bad joke - doctors did not immediately recognise leukaemia but treated the cold. But the baby did not get better.

When the lymph nodes on the girl's neck became inflamed, her parents raised the alarm. The blood test showed a variety of abnormalities, and doctors suspected leukaemia. Analysis of the bone marrow confirmed their fears. From that moment on, the little princess "lives" in the Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology.

“I was under great stress and shock. I never imagined I would be in oncology with my baby.  I wouldn't wish this even on an enemy. It was a very difficult challenge. Life was at stake. God bless the health of all children", - says Umut's mother.

The treatment helps the girl. Umut already feels better. To correct the therapy strategy it was urgent to diagnose the minimal residual disease of acute leukaemia in the laboratory "Hemotest". The family is in a difficult financial situation. Besides Umut, there are four other girls in the family. The parents appealed to us with the request for help. In the charitable direction "For life" we helped Umut to pass the expensive diagnostics.

Thank you to all who support our charity projects!

We wish Umut a speedy recovery. May the pain and suffering remain in the past, and there will be a lot of joy and a happy childhood ahead!
