Cancer is a terrible and very aggressive disease, but it can be prevented, detected in its early stages and easily treated. To prevent the disease worldwide, 4 February is celebrated every year as the day of the fight against cancer. It is important to receive a diagnosis and surgical treatment. Every year, about 4 million people can be saved from cancer through preventive measures and early detection.
Unfortunately, the disease is not always detected in time, and in such cases, only expensive treatment, which is not available to everyone, can save a person. worldwide, malignant neoplasms kill 6 million people each year, including about 200,000 children. Despite the relatively low incidence of malignant tumours and the possibility of complete treatment of patients, the mortality rate among children remains high. Unfortunately, most children are admitted for treatment only in the terminal stage of the disease.
If there are signs that alarm parents, a paediatrician must be consulted immediately.
Our Sun of Hope Foundation is committed to saving children's lives. Our goal is to provide children with a healthy childhood, regardless of the family's financial situation, and to help them overcome cancer and other serious illnesses.
May all the children of the world be healthy!
Together, let us give hope and support to the children!
We have seen a wonderful story that clearly shows how important our support is for the little patients. Let us read this story together.
Several years ago, a teacher received an invitation to work with young patients in a large city hospital. She was to help the children do their homework so that they would not fall too far behind in the curriculum during their illness.
One day she received a call and was asked to work with a new patient. She was dictated the student's first and last name, the hospital number, and the ward he was in, and said (the teacher was also on the other end of the line): "We are going to go over the nouns and adverbs now. I would be grateful if you would help him with his homework so that the boy does not fall behind his classmates.
And it was not until she got to the door of the ward that the teacher realized she was in a burn centre. Before entering the ward, she had to put on a sterile gown and cap to avoid spreading the infection. She was asked not to touch the boy or his bed. It was possible to stand near the patient, but one had to speak through a special mask.
When the preparations were completed - the teacher washed her face and hands, and put on everything she was supposed to wear - she took more air into her lungs and went to the ward. The boy, who had terrible burns, was in great pain. The girl felt uncomfortable, she did not know what to say, but she could not turn around and leave either - she had already gone too far. Finally, she murmured:
- I am a teacher, and I help school children who are in the hospital keep up with the program. Your teacher asked me to help you deal with nouns and adverbs.
After the lesson, she thought she had had easier lessons.
The next morning she came back to the burn centre, and one of the nurses asked:
What did you do to that boy?
The teacher started to apologize, but the nurse interrupted her:
- You did not understand. We were worried about his life, but after your visit, he seemed to be changed. The body started to fight, and responded to the treatment ... the boy seemed to choose life.
The boy himself later recalled that he no longer hoped and felt he would die - until he saw this teacher. With her arrival, everything changed: the boy understood one simple thing - it seemed to dawn on him. Tears of happiness rolled down the cheeks of the boy, whose burns were so severe that he even stopped hoping; he formulated the thought that enlightened him as follows: "A teacher is not sent to a dying man to learn nouns and adverbs, is he?"
