The 1st of September is an exciting and joyful day when elegant schoolchildren walk with bouquets towards new knowledge and are happy to see their friends after the summer holidays! You can hear music all around, the first bells ringing, calling you to class, and you can feel the holiday atmosphere in everything!

Knowledge Day is a great event that stays in our memory for the rest of our lives. Unfortunately, not all children enjoy the 1st of September. Our beneficiaries are forced to meet the holiday in hospitals in a cruel struggle for life. I wish them strength of spirit and faith in themselves. The results of her latest examination have just come back. Ayazhan's mum and dad are deeply worried about the uncertainty, but they are trying to keep the frightening thoughts at bay.

The tumour that was causing her severe headaches has reduced slightly after the chemo. That has cheered us up, at least a little. Generally speaking, she is feeling a bit better. The doctors say we will need more radiotherapy.

Unfortunately, they still do not have the funds to pay for a bone marrow transplant. To suppress the growth of cancer cells, doctors have had to prescribe Zhanna endless courses of chemotherapy. However, this is a highly toxic treatment, and her small, weakened body cannot withstand such harsh measures. The results of her tests showed that the shock doses of chemotherapy have greatly enlarged the little girl's liver.

Ayazhan was supposed to enter the 5th grade this year, but due to her illness, she has to complete the school programme remotely. She looks at pictures of her happy classmates and cries. She is hurt and scared, knowing her life depends on the money her family doesn't have.
