Today we would like to tell you a wonderful story about a farm of kindness and the miracles that happen when you open your heart.
A British couple adopted about 30 former racehorses on their farm. Often, local children came to help care for the animals. But one day an event that gave the farm and the residents a whole new, fulfilling life happened.
The farm owner recounts: "One Saturday a car pulled up to the farm, and the woman rolled down the window and turned to my husband Michael: "We hear you have children helping on Saturdays. Would you take our daughter Sophie? She's 13 and has not spoken in two years. She loves books about horses."
Sophie got out of the car. She was bent over as if a great weight was on her. I knew where to take her. Darcy's horse came to us a few days ago. The previous owner had almost killed her. The poor animal seemed to have finally lost the will to live, although Michael and the vet tried everything to save her.
When Sophie entered the stable, Darcy surprised me by walking up to the girl herself and tilting her head so I could pet her. "She never comes to me like that," I complained. Both Darcy and Sophie were happy to see her. The girl held out her hands, and Darcy dipped her nose into them. I showed Sophie how to take care of a horse. When her parents came to pick her up, she didn't even say goodbye.
The next Saturday, Sophie went to Darcy with enthusiasm. As Sophie groomed the horse, she closed her eyes in pleasure and almost dozed off. It was a great compliment to Sophie, showing complete confidence.
Darcy began to recover. She and the girl gained confidence and a zest for life. One day, at the end of the summer, Michael put his finger to his ear to signal that he heard something. It was Sophie talking. We were amazed. Her voice sounded evident. When her parents came to pick her up and I said goodbye, she said, "Goodbye," to everyone's surprise.
The parents said the girl started talking as if she had never stopped talking. This incident turned the Kindness Farm into a hospital for children and horses, and such miracles were commonplace.
Where kindness and faith come together, miracles happen!
Currently, Ayazhan is gradually working on developing her knee joint. She has achieved a 60% bend, but at least 90% is needed for effective walking. On Monday, Ayazhan was taken to Astana for chemotherapy. The tests sent to South Korea by her treating doctor have returned satisfactory results.
