Curious Hakim started a course of Bobath therapy!

03.06.2023 15:30

Dina Makarenko, Director of the Sun of Hope Foundation, visited the Baby Health Centre. She did not go there empty-handed but with gifts for the bright and curious six-year-old boy. On the 19th of May, we met Hakim Fraizer- a fantastic beneficiary of the foundation.

How nice to know that with your help, we are doing such good and important things!

The boy's mother applied to the foundation with a request for help to pay for his rehabilitation at the "Baby Health" Children's Medical Centre. And when this help was provided, Dina came to see how his training was going. The smiling and inquisitive Hakim was pleased about the attention and was glad to make contact. Hakim's mother, Aliya was thrilled to share Hakim's story from the very beginning. How it happened that the boy was born with cerebral palsy, and how much trial and error she and her son had to go through to see the results and development. All this is not for nothing, as Hakim is already surprising us with his achievements. At 6, he reads easily, studies a lot, wants to go to school as soon as possible, is interested in geography, and knows the world map, flags and capitals of different countries. The boy dreams of seeing this world with his own eyes, travelling around it on his feet. And to do that, he needs to learn how to walk independently, which is very difficult for him because of cerebral palsy. We have high hopes that the therapy will benefit the child and help improve the quality of life of this beautiful sunny boy.

Dina accompanied Hakim to his sessions, and we even watched the Bobath therapy, which is so vital for children with cerebral palsy. It allows the development of motor skills and muscle tone through neuro-exercise and therefore has no alternative in terms of effectiveness.

And Alija's mother and Hakim were very grateful for your help in enabling the boy to undergo this treatment, which is so valuable and essential for his health! Thank you to the Sun of Hope Foundation and all of you for doing such great work!
