6-year-old Daniel is a smart and positive boy. Before his illness, he attended kindergarten and enjoyed his childhood. In November 2021, he started complaining of pain in his legs. The mother thought the boy was growing up. But then his hands started to hurt. In early December, the temperature rose to 39 °C. The boy was taken by ambulance to the Belovodsk hospital, where he was treated for ten days. An exact diagnosis is not yet known. The treatment did not help, and it did not get better.
Danya was referred to a private neurologist who prescribed a new therapy, but unfortunately, it did not help either. Mum could not find a place for herself. After the New Year holidays, she took my son to a cardio rheumatologist, where the boy was diagnosed with rheumatism. He has been prescribed ointments and medication. But this treatment did not help either. Under all these diseases was hidden paediatric oncology.
Daniel could no longer walk, and he had a constant fever. He was admitted to the National Centre for Maternal and Child Health, where he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. It was really hard for the boy to cope with this news, and many tears were shed. But mother and son managed to pull themselves together! Danya survived four cycles of chemotherapy. Finally, he is at home, but the treatment is still not finished. Every week he takes a blood test, and once a month takes an analysis of the bone and spinal cord, drinks dry chemicals and keeps a diet.
To adapt the treatment, the boy had to undergo an expensive diagnosis. Daniel's mother is raising her son alone, and now she cannot work because she has to take care of her son. She turned to our foundation for help. We helped Daniel get a check-up and bought him liquid calcium with magnesium, which he needed.
