Daniel is six years old and loves to dance. But now he no longer has the strength for his favourite dances. A year ago, his legs hurt. At first, the doctors thought the boy was just growing. Unfortunately, the pain went on spreading to his hands, and the temperature rose and did not go away. He was admitted to the hospital, but even there they could not find the real cause of the boy's bad condition.
A private neurologist prescribed a new treatment, but the pain did not stop. His mother then consulted a cardio-rheumatologist who started rheumatology treatment. Daniel's condition only worsened. He could hardly walk when he was admitted to the National Centre for Maternal and Child Welfare. In-depth investigations revealed the true cause: blood cancer - acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Daniel underwent 4 cycles of chemotherapy in the hospital. He continues to be treated at home: His blood is checked weekly, his bone marrow is checked once a month, and he drinks dry chemicals and follows a therapeutic diet.
The mother raises Daniel alone. Since she cannot work because of her son's serious illness, the family's financial situation is difficult. The boy needed an expensive check-up and medication. The family turned to our foundation seeking help. We could not overcome the child's unhappiness and helped him with the diagnosis and the procurement of the necessary medication.
Daniel wants to get well soon and buy a horse and a fast bicycle. He dreams of regaining his strength, dancing and enjoying life again. We wish him the fulfilment of all his wishes and a wonderful New Year's holiday!
