The fundraising campaign for Maxim’s treatment has closed! Thanks to you, Maxim is continuing his sarcoma treatment!

Behind these words lies a long and challenging journey filled with anxiety and anticipation, pain and hope, exhaustion and faith. This journey has not been undertaken alone; throughout it all, he has been supported by his family, friends, volunteers, and hundreds of people who resonated with his story.

Until very recently, Maxim's life was filled with the familiar pursuits important to any young person: studying at university, planning for the future, meeting friends, and participating in sports training. He played volleyball passionately, giving his all, celebrating victories, and lamenting defeats. Energetic, kind-hearted, and attentive to those around him, Maxim had a unique ability to lift everyone's spirits, bring people together, and inspire them.

He dreamed of advancing his career and was actively making plans for the future…

A sudden diagnosis of sarcoma changed everything for Maxim. This highly aggressive form of cancer required urgent and complex treatment, turning his life and the lives of his loved ones upside down. A gruelling battle began, filled with endless tests, hospitalisations, chemotherapy sessions, waiting for results, and anxious nights. Despite losing his physical strength, Maxim managed to hold onto his inner strength, supporting his mom, joking with the doctors, and never losing hope—even on the toughest days.

Throughout his treatment, Maxim underwent several intensive chemotherapy courses, endured severe side effects, and faced long recovery periods due to drops in blood counts and significant weakness. He is currently continuing on his path to recovery by undergoing radiotherapy. Each treatment demands courage, and every morning requires a fresh resolve. There are days when getting out of bed is difficult, when strength seems to abandon him, and when anxiety grips him. Yet, by gathering his thoughts and overcoming his fear, Maxim takes a step forward again and again.

He celebrated his coming-of-age in the hospital. Although he missed the usual festivities and a lively group of friends, the day remained special due to the care from volunteers, the attention of the doctors, and the love of his family. It was a happy and touching occasion, filled with smiles and the hope for a bright, healthy future ahead.

The closure of the fundraising campaign brought immense relief to the family and served as a vital source of support.

This means that his treatment can continue uninterrupted, allowing Maxim to see it through to the end without being distracted by fears about the future. It also means that there are caring people nearby who truly support him.

Maxim’s mum expresses her heartfelt gratitude:

We are making small, incremental steps toward our main goal: Maxim’s treatment. Once again, thank you all immensely!”
