Eid al-Fitr is known in Kyrgyzstan as Orozo Ait and Kazakhstan as Oraza Ait. The feast begins with performing Ait namaz together with the community. After the festive prayer, strict restrictions are lifted and a festive table is set. People go to visit their parents and relatives and give gifts.
Eid al-Fitr is a holiday of forgiveness and good deeds. On this day it is important to keep a festive mood, to please relatives and friends and to help those in need. Before Eid al-Fitr, one should pay alms for singing - zakat-al-fitr (sadaqa). In Eid al-Fitr, as in the month of Ramadan, charity is encouraged. Helping those in need is a characteristic of a Muslim and fulfilling one of the five pillars of Islam.
"The month of Ramadan and Orozo Ait is a time to forgive offences and quarrels. There should be a festive mood on this day, and we should please our loved ones and give gifts," said Abibilla Kadyrberdiyev, deputy mufti of Kyrgyzstan.
Let's fill this day with kindness and charity. Let's send holiday aid to children who need urgent treatment. Children have to be away from their families on this holy Day, please support them.
