Sultan is only four years old. At this age, children typically ask for ice cream, play with toy cars, and request bedtime stories. However, little Sultan lives in a hospital ward, where instead of toys there are IVs, and instead of sweets, there is medicine. His mother tells him bedtime stories via video chat because she can't be with him.
He has already undergone several rigorous courses of chemotherapy. The medication causes severe pain in his legs, and he refuses to eat, constantly asking to be picked up. Unfortunately, only his dad can be there for him, as his mom is caring for his newborn sibling.
When Sultan was admitted to the hospital, he was unexpectedly diagnosed with ringworm. This delayed his planned chemotherapy because his body was already at its limit. Only after successfully treating the infection did the doctors begin the next stage of his treatment. He was given methotrexate and underwent a three-day body flush.
"We searched for medicine throughout the CIS. Sultan endured everything, despite the pain and weakness. The doctors say his body is responding to treatment, which gives us hope. However, there are still blast cells — cancer cells — in his blood. We are currently waiting for a crucial test result from Turkey that will determine whether Sultan can overcome cancer," says the boy's mother.
He eagerly awaited the news that he would be allowed to go home to recover. His eyes lit up with joy when he heard this. He continues to smile, no matter the circumstances. However, the journey to remission is not yet over.
Sultanchik truly needs our support—both moral and, most importantly, financial.
Help Sultanchik fight cancer. Every donation contributes to his chemotherapy treatments and the essential medications he requires. It brings him one step closer to embracing his mother in person instead of through a phone screen. Sultanchik believes in miracles, and together, we can be part of that miracle.
