On this day, 206 years ago, physician James Blundell, one of the founders of haemo transfusion and paediatric intensive care medicine, performed the world's first human-to-human blood transfusion. Blood is a mobile internal medium of the body and fulfils crucial functions for the normal functioning of the human body.
Today, I want to share the story of little Zhanna. She has the rare first blood group with a negative Rh factor, which is found in only 6-7% of the world's population. Zhanna is battling blood cancer and faces difficulties in finding blood and platelets for transfusion, which are crucial for her treatment. As a result, Zhanna, with her rare blood type, urgently needs help to survive.
In Zhanna's home country, they were unable to help her. However, doctors at the Acibadem Clinic in Turkey have taken on her case. The selected therapy is effectively suppressing the cancer cells, and the treatment needs to be completed with a bone marrow transplantation. Unfortunately, Zhanna's family does not have the financial means to proceed with the transplant. As a result, the doctors are continuing her chemotherapy, but her body is at its limit, barely holding on. Postponing the transplant is dangerous.
The future of young Zhanna, who believes and hopes that kind-hearted adults will save her, depends on your help!
