Children can sometimes drive parents crazy, causing them to snap, shout or say things they regret later. To avoid such situations, we asked school psychologist Anastasia Andreevna Novoselova for advice.
-When you feel like you are about to snap at your child, take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth five times to calm down. It's important to show your children your true emotions, not just a fake smile all the time. If you try to conceal your emotions, your child may perceive it as dishonesty, which is not recommended. Instead, demonstrate that you occasionally get upset, but it is unnecessary to yell at your child. So, when you feel like you're about to lose your temper, try to stop and take a deep breath instead. When problems arise in parenting, you can always seek help from psychologists. They can give you better advice, help you get rid of some bad qualities in children or teach you how to interact with them.
Tell your children more often how much you love them. Hug them, kiss them. It is recommended to tell your child forty times a day that you love him and hug him. It is clear that we all have a fast pace of life and a lot of things to do, but we should strive for this number every day.
We are grateful to Anastasia Andreyevna for helping us prepare this article.
