Little Asima is back in Switzerland, and the news from the clinic is heartwarming: her condition is stable. The second month of treatment is progressing well, and the highlight of this trip is that the little girl has taken her first steps on her own, despite all the challenges she has faced
The battle against retinoblastoma is a long marathon. Doctors explain that monitoring and treatment can last up to five years. Asima’s father shares her thoughts on this difficult journey:
"We have a long road ahead of us. At the clinic, we’ve met families who have been undergoing treatment for four or five years now. We realise that we will need to travel to Switzerland for several years, but this is necessary for our daughter’s safety," says Asima’s father.
Asima now visits the doctor once a month. After receiving anaesthesia, she often feels sleepy and weak, but her family cherishes every moment: “Every minute she is awake brings us great joy.”
Due to her intensive treatment and frequent anaesthesia, Asima started walking later than her peers, but her will to live is remarkable. She can now confidently take five to six steps.
“Her muscle tone is still weak, and she sometimes falls, but we believe she is getting stronger every day. We do get tired, especially after four flights, but our hearts rejoice when we see that she is doing well,” said Asima’s father.
Asima’s story is one of faith and tireless effort. We praise Allah for every stable day and for each step she takes towards the light.
Please continue to support this brave little girl on her journey. Your attention and kind thoughts provide the encouragement her family needs to believe in a bright future.
May your homes always be filled with peace, prosperity, good health and the warmth of your family and friends. May this joyful festival fill your hearts with kindness, compassion and gratitude.
