Diagnosis: Cancer. Osteogenic sarcoma of the upper third of the left tibia
Needed: Treatment at the Ikhilov Clinic, Tel Aviv, Israel
While his friends are choosing a profession and making plans for the future, 15-year-old Yelisei is confined to a hospital bed and dreams of only one thing - to survive and return home.
Yelisei was an active and purposeful boy from birth. He loved sports: he was engaged in swimming, football, and chess, and found himself in volleyball. He became one of the best players in his team. He was the best not only in sports, he constantly participated in Olympiads, and did well in maths and IT. All this is in the past. Now Yelisei is like a hospital prisoner, chained to the ward with drips, and aggressive cancer is gnawing into his body every day.
Earlier this year, his mother noticed that her son was limping. When questioned by his mum, Yelisei replied that he had no pain. He continued to go to trainings and competitions. In April, the boy's sister broke her leg. On the 18th of April, the girl had an appointment with a surgeon. This day turned out to be fatal for Yelisey - he returned home with a bad limp. Mum decided to show him to the doctor. During the examination, the surgeon did not see anything terrible and prescribed physiotherapy. But the next day, they urgently called Yelysei and his mother to the clinic. According to the results of the X-ray, a terrible diagnosis was given- Osteosarcoma, cancer. A CT scan and MRI confirmed a tumour in the left tibia.
"I learnt how to walk without feeling the ground beneath my feet. Tears, denial, anger, and fear are still with us... But we learned to hide our emotions and fight for our son. In Minsk, Elisey underwent surgery to take a biopsy. But something went wrong... A haematoma began to grow strongly in the area of the postoperative suture, but nobody gave us any comforting prognosis. We began to look for options to save our boy. We did not have visas to the EU countries and had no time to wait. Since our son is 15 years old, hormonal growth, so the tumour progressed too quickly. The choice was made in favour of Israel. During the flight, a haematoma ruptured the suture. A tumour the size of an egg emerged from the surgical wound, all in a matter of days. In Israel, the oncologist and surgeon were surprised at the rapid growth of the tumour. Ylisei was immediately prescribed chemotherapy. He is taking it very hard, nausea, vomiting, bad analyses, hair loss..."- says Natalia, Ylisei's mother.
The family spent all the money available on examinations, chemotherapy and hospitalisation. The treatment did not end there. Ylisei's life is under great threat.
"It's hard for me to see my mum, my dad, who gave me life, despairing because they can't save me! Thank you to the people who took the time and willingness to read my story and also found the opportunity to support me! I can't thank you enough for your help. But if I survive - my help will save a lot of people. I want that! I want to survive. I need your help now! Please help me to beat cancer!" - writes Yelisei.
A few months ago, Yelisei was doing sports, participating in Olympiads, and helping his parents and grandmother, and today he cannot even walk. Mum secretly cries for her son, and she is afraid that the treatment will be interrupted and the cancer will take her son's life. She has no money to save him! It is impossible to delay. Yelisei has a highly aggressive cancer, and all doctors agree that they have never seen such a rapid growth of the tumour. Stopping treatment is extremely dangerous.
Let's help Yelisei together! Let's not allow aggressive cancer to ruin the boy's life.
