Labour Day is celebrated in Kyrgyzstan, highlighting the unity of the people of Kyrgyzstan.
Additionally, today marks a special occasion as our wonderful beneficiary, Elina Nurlanova, celebrates her second birthday. She is currently in Turkey, where her entire family is fighting for her life.
Elina's mother, Aizada, shared some recent news regarding Elina's medical situation:
“Recently, we received the results of the umbilical cord blood analysis. Unfortunately, only 20 per cent of it is suitable for transplantation, which is insufficient. We were hoping for a different outcome, so this news is a huge blow for all of us. Now, we need to find a donor for a bone marrow transplant.
We have not yet discussed the next steps with Elina's doctor, as he has been unavailable. Once they meet, we will have a better understanding of the next stage of treatment.
Elina is feeling well at the moment. She has been staying with me in a hotel for the past week; the doctors have allowed her to rest until the exact treatment plan is determined. When chemotherapy and preparation for the transplantation begin, her dad will be with her. Unfortunately, I cannot be in the sterile environment with them, as I need to take care of our newborn baby, Ayla, and safety regulations prevent me from being in the sterile box.”
Dear friends, let's come together on the 1st of May to support the birthday girl with our donations. It's a difficult time for her, but as long as there is hope, we can't give up! We have the power to give Elina the gift of life on her birthday.
May she find healing this year!
