"Your daughter may not survive the chemo" - the doctor began the story of little Agathe's struggle with this phrase. The condition of the little girl was terrifying - the cancer of the nervous system of the last stage was rapidly attacking the girl, and her life was hanging by a thread. Everything was affected: bones, bone marrow, lymph nodes, soft tissues. The local doctors said to prepare for the worst. Only Mum, Dad and Dr Moreau from the Spanish clinic believed it was possible for Agathe to pull through.
Agathe Golovchenko, Bishkek, 5 years old
Diagnosis: Cancer. Neuroblastoma, stage 4
Needed: Treatment in Sant Joan de Déu Hospital (Barcelona, Spain)
The fundraising amount: $15,900.
"I pray that Agathe will make it to the moment, when we have money in the account. But cancer doesn't wait. It's so scary! Our Agathe is very homesick. I understand her fatigue because she has spent half of her life-fighting cancer. There have been more hospital walls than children's playgrounds, and I wish so bad it was the other way around. Time is running out, and I feel we have very little of it, and fundraising is not going on. It's scary not having enough time. Terrible that a child's life could cost so much. We are begging and crying for help. Dear folks, we can't cope without you!" - begs Agathe's mum.
The little girl has undergone the heaviest courses of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy, and immunotherapy. Dr Moreau said: "We won't give up!". And the girl succeeded, and we saw the light at the end of the tunnel. The treatment helped, but the cancer is still not completely gone, and the therapy needs continue. But the deposit at the clinic has run out. The family has already sold everything they could and borrowed money. There's nothing left to fight for Agathe. No one will treat her for free. If we have money, they will fight for Agathe's life. No money, no life.
Together we can save Agathe. Fundraising is stagnating! Please help!
