We were anxiously awaiting news from Omina's family. The girl was in a critical condition, but now Dilafruz, Omina's mum, has written to us:
Omina needs to be saved by the whole world! SOS!
"Our Omina's condition has more or less stabilised. The other day, she finished her course of chemotherapy. She still has a fever. My poor girl is suffering from constant nausea and diarrhoea. They are all terrible side effects of the chemo.
It's very frightening that Omina's eyesight has not returned yet. The doctors say it should have, but they are not 100 per cent sure. Her condition is being monitored constantly. They give her eye drops, syrups, pills, and drips. She is being cared for and fought for. Every 2-3 days, she undergoes MRI and CT scans.
The tumour that was causing her severe headaches has reduced slightly after the chemo. That has cheered us up, at least a little. Generally speaking, she is feeling a bit better. The doctors say we will need more radiotherapy. It is hoped that this will help reduce the size of the tumour and restore her sight.
We try to believe in the best, and we need your help so much! We can't overcome this misfortune on our own!" – Omina's mum.
