Omina's sad news.
Omina has just finished her fourth round of chemotherapy. She is now receiving antibiotic treatment for the side effects of the chemo. The poor baby has constant tummy aches and stomatitis. The inevitable fifth course of chemotherapy is ahead. We need your support!
Three months ago, Omina was confirmed to have biphenotypic leukaemia, a complex and rare diagnosis: two types of Cancer. Only a bone marrow transplant will save her, and there is no other treatment option!
We have to wait for the side effects to subside, for her test results to improve, and for her white blood cell count to rise. Only then will Omina and her mother be released from the hospital for two weeks. This time is for the body to recover, and the girl can rest. If the haemoglobin level is low, Omina will have to undergo blood and platelet transfusions. The girl is still not allowed outside or in the corridor. Her favourite and long-awaited classes in the hospital classroom have also had to be interrupted. There is no desire and strength to communicate, even with her adored sister.
The treatment is too challenging, made even worse by the fact that we have to be within the hospital walls. Instead of experiencing the joy of childhood day after day, Omina is living through pain. Before her illness, Omina was very different. She used to draw, create beadwork, and engage in other creative activities. Now, Omina constantly asks her mom about the day they will come home. There will only be a two-week break, which means they will not be able to go to their hometown of Jalal-Abbad and will have to stay in Bishkek. That's a long time away from home. Please help ensure that Omina's ordeal ends soon!
Support Omina in paying for her treatment!
Recently, following another round of intensive treatment, his doctor happily announced that Imran has progressed from stage three to stage two cerebral palsy!
